All About Costume Jewelry

Costume is known by several names: fashion, heavy, trash false and fallalery. These are often the jewelry that has been created to complement the current fashion trend.

In the 1930's, costume jewelry was synonymous with the word "cheap" because they were available and were used only with a particular computer and not to other computers. Once used, they were ignored and discarded, along with the team. In fact, many computers are sold with their own jewelry. Costume also means temporary. The very term "Jewelry" first came out in the 20th century and actually refers to the costumes or attire. So the jewelry is made to complement the specific computer.

The costume jewelry is usually made from inferior materials instead of finding the jewels that were made from precious metals and precious stones or gems. They were cheaper so that is not even considered as collectibles. The materials used to make include glass, plastic, synthetic stones, metals, plastic and fiberglass.

When it first came out, inexpensive materials were made to look like fine pandora bracelets and charms using rhinestones, Lucite, tin, silver, nickel and brass. During the first economic downturn in late 1920 and early 1930's, Rhinestones were further degraded by what might be cheaper and more affordable. Interestingly, during the Second World War, sterling silver is used to create the costume jewelry, because metals are very cheap when originally needed in the war effort, namely the creation of aircraft and bullets and other weapons.

Another reason was that the money could simulate the platinum and platinum with more effectiveness has been and is a very expensive metal. To simulate diamonds, cubic zirconium crystals and high quality is used. The stained glass is used to simulate precious stones.

But probably the main examples were excellent jewelry that were created for Hollywood films. The camera can capture light from the royal jewels, which were generally absent in the costumes. So there was a lot of research and innovation undertaken to create the costume jewelry that might look like the real and fine jewelry. Nowadays, costume jewelry reaches a high price, especially when it comes to the haute couture fashion design from designs that all designers want to follow.

At present, the ring is the most popular costumes that mimics the ring Catherine Middleton, who soon married Prince William. Although the ring was originally the prince's mother, Princess Diana, the romance of today has created a renewed interest in the ring. Just goes to show that fashion is synonymous with, yet, with the romance.
